Noses

I have noticed that we have a very weird nose in my family. It sort of bends to the right.
It annoys me so much! Why can't it just be a normal nose like most other noses! Why does it have to be a bitch like that!
NOSE!
Why won't you behave!

It's a lumpy nose as well, so, you know, it does get comments from other noses. There is nothing called tolerance these days, in the nasal community. Fucking...
I have no words to support my disappointment.. But I will fucking well try!

You have those noses with their little monocles and top hats glaring over at the likes of mine, like they were ruffians! Such rudeness. Just because it is a little crooked and a little bit potato-y... What a load of old horse shit! ...As Donna Noble would say, if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I am writing this to raise awareness for nose racism. Nose racism is a problem!

Be aware!
Be considerate!
Be tolerant to other noses!

The Hobbit

After seeing the Hobbit twice in the cinema, I decided to write my opinion of it.

First of all, Martin Freeman as Bilbo was just a fantastic casting choice. Freeman's sort of nervous way of acting, I think, fit very well with Bilbo. It made him seem very out of place, which he was meant to be.
The dwarves were amazing. I was a little confused about the really good looking ones, as they didn't really look like dwarves, but... Details! They took the part of the Eye-candy characters, that I guess is needed in every film... Apparently..I should also say that their songs were amazing. The Misty Mountains one were really good. Beautiful, in fact. And the funny one were they mocked Bilbo made them seem like light and funny characters. Which some of them were.

It's been really long since I've read the book, so I don't really feel I can compare the film to the book. But like a friend of mine said, "It seemed like they had decided that Saruman was already a bad seed". I can agree with this, as they made him kind of obvious and say that what Gandalf wanted to do was silly and a waste of time, even with solid proof, he denied the Necromancer etc.
I don't remember the Necromancer from the book, but I hope we get to see more of him in the movie as I think he seemed like an interesting character. A little bit weird he was so ghostly, though, but... I don't know.

Radagast. Was. Amazing. I just absolutely loved the rabbit sleigh. He could be a little too silly at times, but the rabbit sleigh just did it for me. That made me laugh so much. A very silly character, clearly nuts, but I think people were charmed. Bunny sleigh. How awesome is that.

The goblins/orcs were very different to what I can remember in The Lord of The Rings. They were a lot paler and looked a lot more "Inbred hicks"-like. I thought that goblins and orcs were different in the Tolkien universe, but according to LotR wiki, they are the same thing. I thought that goblins didn't move in sunlight, but orcs did. So I thought this change made sense, now, however, I don't know what to think.
The goblin king was nasty. His chin.. I wanted to carve it out and make it look more chin-like. Instead of that pelican-neck he had. Blehr.

Gollum was eerie. As he should be. Both kinda cute and horrible at the same time.
I thought however he could be a little bit more "evil", as he JUST lost the ring, but it was fine. He was good.

Andy Serkis is amazing as ever doing that voice. I don't understand how he does it but he does it well.

All in all, I loved this movie. I did think it lasted a bit too long, but that could have been because I was ill both times watching it. 3 hours is generally kind of slightly over-kill. They could have easily ended it right after they escaped the goblin cave.
I really can't wait to see Smaug. I look forward to seeing what Peter Jackson did with him. If it's a very typical dragon, or did something special to it.
Who knows. I really can't wait for part 2 to come out.

Diseased.

So... In all my hype of finally being home, I managed to get mono.
Yep.
The kissing disease.
And not flying through it with style and grace, either, I'm talking "lying on the sofa questioning your existence"-ill.
It was actually so bad I nearly got chucked in the hospital. Fortunately, I managed to drink enough by myself so that I didn't have to.
I hate mono.
I can safely say that I am over the moon about not getting it again. This is the worst I have ever been.
Eating is still agony, but I'm fortunately getting better and better.

So that was today's whiny update.

Happy New Year! :)
